Sifu Mobile: Controls, First Boss & Aging Tips

A Sifu Mobile starter route: touch controls vs controller, the aging loop, how to approach the first boss, and the mistakes that burn years.

Verified for version1.0.2

Sifu Mobile is the same kung-fu brawler as the console and PC game, with a new touch layout. This route covers the first hour: set up controls, learn the defensive loop, and reach the first boss without wasting the amulet.

Set up controls first

Try the default touch layout, then change button size and position before you judge the combat. The App Store lists full controller support; if you already know Sifu, a controller is the more consistent option for boss attempts. On touch, keep the dodge and guard buttons where your thumb can reach without looking.

Learn defence before damage

Sifu's combat is built on timing. Block, parry and dodge are not optional; trading hits is how you lose years. Start with one enemy type, watch its tell, and practise the parry timing. Use the environment: throwables, weapons and ledges give you an opening when a group surrounds you.

The aging loop

When you die, you revive older. Age is the run's timer: the older you get, the less room you have for mistakes. A clean stage keeps you young; a sloppy one can cost a decade before the boss. Do not rush the first exchange. Survive one combo, then look for the opening.

First boss

The first boss is a pattern test. Do not try to out-damage it; learn the tells, survive one combo, and punish the recovery. If you keep dying at the same age, the problem is usually one specific attack you are not recognising. Adjust the camera sensitivity and distance so you can see both the boss and your spacing.

Start here

Play the first stage slowly. Learn one enemy type's tells, practise the parry, and only then push for speed. Sort out the camera and controls before you judge the combat; the full campaign is there, and the years are supposed to run out.

FAQ

Should I use touch controls or a controller in Sifu Mobile?

Try the default touch layout first and resize the buttons, but use a controller for boss attempts if you already know the console version. The App Store lists full controller support.

How does the aging mechanic work on mobile?

Death revives your fighter older; age is the run's timer and reduces your remaining margin for mistakes. The amulet and aging rules are unchanged from the base game.

How do I reach the first boss without wasting years?

Learn one enemy type's tells, practise the parry, and survive one combo before punishing. Do not trade hits; the first boss is a pattern test, not a damage race.
