Aion 2 Guides: Classes, Aerial Combat & Global Launch
Aion 2 guide hub for the 5 October 2026 global PC launch: the eight launch classes, faction war, aerial combat, and what to do first as a new Daeva.
Verified for versionglobal-launch
Aion 2 is NCSOFT's free-to-play MMORPG sequel, built in Unreal Engine 5 around a world 36 times larger than the original Aion. The global PC version launched on 5 October 2026 with eight classes, two factions and aerial combat that changes how every fight is fought.
What the global launch includes
The global client ships with eight classes: Templar, Gladiator, Assassin, Ranger, Sorcerer, Spiritmaster, Cleric and Chanter. Korea and Taiwan also have a ninth class, Brawler, but it is not part of the global launch roster yet. Every class is open to both factions, the Elyos and the Asmodians.
The dungeon list and season schedule are live-service content, so they will move with patches. What does not move is the structure: solo instances teach your class, 5-player parties cover the mid-tier, and 10-player groups take on the content that needs a real composition. The official store page puts the launch roster at more than 200 dungeons across those formats, plus seasonal challenges and the Abyss.
Aerial combat is the hook
Flight is not a travel shortcut here. The official store page describes Aion 2 as an MMORPG built around aerial combat and vertical positioning: gaining altitude is how you take angles, escape pressure and force fights on your terms. That makes camera control and altitude management part of your basic rotation, not an optional trick.
Pick a role first
Class choice is permanent, so choose the job you want to do in a group before you chase a damage ranking. Templar is the dedicated main tank and Cleric the dedicated healer; both are always in demand. Sorcerer and Ranger are the straightforward ranged damage picks, while Assassin and Gladiator reward players who like melee pressure. Spiritmaster and Chanter add summon and support depth.
