Krillion Guide: Daily Trivia Rules, Modes & Scoring
A Krillion guide to the daily trivia format: seven prompts, 25 seconds each, rarity-based scoring, and how Daily, Practice, Double and Battle modes differ.
Verified for version1.0.8
Krillion is a free daily trivia game built around a deliberate inversion of the usual quiz instinct. Everyone gets the same seven open-ended prompts, but the obvious answer is rarely the best one: the rarer a valid answer is among all players, the more it scores. The browser version is at krillion.io, and the same format is available on Android as Krillion: Trivia & Quiz Game. The game launched in late September 2026 and is still adding questions and tuning answer recognition.
How a Daily Dive works
A Daily Dive is seven prompts with about 25 seconds per prompt. You type an answer rather than choosing from a list. Answers are checked against the game's accepted-answer pool, and an unrecognised answer costs time while you retry. The Daily Dive is the same for everyone and refreshes at 00:00 UTC. Streaks and a leaderboard of the previous day's rare finds give the daily round a reason to come back.
The ocean-diving theme is more than decoration. Rarer answers send your krill deeper, and the depth score is the visible measure of how well the dive went.
Scoring rewards rarity
Krillion scores answers in rarity tiers, from Plankton at 10 points through Too Clever, Schooler, Rare and Deep Cut to One in a Krillion at 100 points. A perfect seven-prompt dive is therefore 700 points, often shown as a 7,000 m descent. Some third-party guides quote a different point-to-depth conversion, so treat the in-game result screen as the final word.
The practical consequence is that "correct" is not enough. A broad, obvious answer such as a famous capital city may be accepted but score near the bottom. A narrower answer that is still defensible can score far more. The skill is guessing what other players will overlook.
The four modes
- Daily Dive: the shared seven-prompt round with the 25-second timer, one scored attempt per day.
- Practice Dive: seven prompts with no timer, useful for learning what the answer checker accepts.
- Double Dive: bank one answer, then try for a rarer one and keep the better result.
- Battle: private rooms with friends for live rounds; the Android store listing describes this as the multiplayer mode.
The browser game and the Android app are separate builds, so check that your streak and progress are where you expect them if you play both.
Better dives
Start with the first answer that comes to mind, then ask whether a more specific version is still clearly correct. A country is weak; a lesser-known example that fits the prompt is stronger. Keep an eye on the clock, because an invalid answer can consume most of the 25 seconds. Practice Dive is the cheapest place to learn the accepted spelling and phrasing. After a Daily Dive, review the rare answers on the leaderboard and note the kind of lateral answer the game rewards.
Start here
Play the Daily Dive once without overthinking it, then use Practice to test narrower answers. Double Dive is the best next step once you can reliably find a second, rarer answer inside the timer.
