Dragonkind: How to Play the Official Threshing
A Dragonkind walkthrough: start the official Threshing, choose your path, read the dragon result card, and understand the retry timer.
Verified for version1.0
Dragonkind is the official interactive Threshing experience tied to Rebecca Yarros's Empyrean series. You sign in, enter the Threshing Valley, and make choices that lead to a dragon bond or a death. This page covers the first run.
Start the Threshing
Open dragonkind.com, sign in with an email, and follow the intro. You are placed into a wing, section and squad, then enter the valley. The story is a choose-your-own-adventure: you decide whether to go alone or with squadmates, help an injured cadet, approach sulfur, and so on.
Choices and outcomes
There is no guaranteed route. Players report that the same answers do not always produce the same dragon, and Yarros has said there is roughly a 10% chance of incineration no matter what. Treat the experience as a role-play, not a puzzle with a fixed solution.
Reading the result card
A successful run shows the dragon's name, tail type, sex, age, color and lineage. The card is the record of your bond; screenshot it if you want to keep it. A failed run triggers a retry timer (players widely report about four hours), so do not rush the choices if you are unsure.
Practical tips
- Do not be indecisive; the experience rewards committed choices.
- Going in without weapons and showing the right attitude to each dragon color are common fan tips, not guarantees.
- The official game is separate from the book Threshing Day and from fan-made “Threshing Day game” sites.
Start here
Sign in, read the intro, and make the choices you would actually make. If you fail, use the retry timer as a break; the experience is designed to be replayed, not solved once.
