Control Resonant Guides: Combat, Powers & Manhattan
Control Resonant guide hub for Remedy's 24 September 2026 sequel: Dylan Faden's Aberrant forms, paranatural powers, warped Manhattan, and the first upgrades to chase.
Verified for version1.0
Control Resonant is Remedy's action-RPG sequel to Control. You play Dylan Faden, Jesse's brother, as he leaves FBC confinement and steps into a Manhattan rewritten by a paranatural crisis. The Hiss, the Mold and a new cosmic entity are all in the city, and your job is to contain them with a weapon that changes shape mid-fight.
What is different from Control
The first game was built around gunplay and telekinesis. Resonant moves the fight to melee: Dylan's shapeshifting weapon, the Aberrant, switches between a two-handed hammer and dual-wielded blades. The hammer is the heavy answer for armored or committed enemies; the blades are for speed, gaps and cleanup. The official store page also puts a lot of weight on the environment and gravity anomalies, so positioning matters as much as the combo.
The Aberrant in one minute
- Hammer: slower and heavier, better when the enemy is committed or you need to break posture.
- Blades: faster and safer, better for mobile enemies and hit-and-run.
- Switch on purpose: the weapon is meant to morph on demand, not to be chosen once at the start of a fight.
Manhattan is the progression map
The city is split into zones with their own threats and vertical routes. Gravity anomalies open paths and create combat options; exploration is how you find the resources that feed Dylan's abilities. The official page describes a deep progression system where your choices shape how his powers manifest, so treat early points as a direction, not a checklist.

The getting-started route covers the first session: learn both weapon forms, spend early points on one path, and clear a zone before moving on.
