WARDOGS is a tactical all-out warfare FPS from BULKHEAD, published by Team17 and in Steam Early Access since 10 September 2026. Its pitch is easy to state and hard to survive: up to 100 players, three teams, one control zone, and a battlefield that is being destroyed while you fight over it.

Three teams, one control zone
With two teams, every fight has a front line. With three, the front line is a suggestion. A team that commits everything to one push can be attacked from the side by the team it forgot, and the losing side of a duel is often saved by the winner getting greedy. The practical advice is to check the scoreboard before you commit: if one team is running away with the zone, the other two have a shared interest in breaking that up, even if they are not formally allied.
The control zone gives every kill a purpose beyond the scoreboard. Trading kills away from the objective is how a team loses while feeling busy. If you are unsure what to do, move toward the zone and make the enemy fight you near it.
Destruction and fortifications
The store copy highlights FOB and fortification building on a destructible battlefield. That combination changes how you should think about cover: a wall is a delay, not a home. Build or repair what buys your team time, then expect to rebuild it. The same logic applies on attack. If the enemy is holding a strong position, destruction is the tool that removes it, so use it before you push rather than after you die.
Early Access expectations
Early Access means you are playing a build that is still moving. The store page does not promise a 1.0 date, so treat every balance judgement as temporary. The useful mindset is to learn the systems — how the zone scores, how fortifications behave, how destruction opens routes — because those survive patches better than a specific weapon's damage.
Also note what the listing does not include: no single-player mode is listed, only multiplayer and PvP. WARDOGS is a game you play with other people, and the first hour is about finding your place in a 100-player fight.
