Hood Warfare 2 Guides: Modes, Weapons & Beginner Tips

Hood Warfare 2 is a $5.99 multiplayer FPS from Trapstar Games, set in a fictional Chicago where rival gangs fight for turf. It is built in Unreal Engine 5, runs on PC via Steam, and keeps the scope deliberately small: six modes, four launch maps and a weapon customization system that rewards playing the same gun.

Six modes

• Turf War: hold territory. You score for the ground your gang controls, so the fight is about pressure and rotations, not just kills.
• GangBang: team deathmatch. Two gangs, most kills wins.
• Chaos: free-for-all. No gangs, no teammates, just the scoreboard.
• Hit A Lick: steal the enemy's bag and bring it home while keeping yours safe.
• Destroy The Block: one team plants, the other defuses; one life per round.
• Chain Snatch: kill, then collect the chains enemies drop; also grab your teammates' chains before the other gang does.

Four maps, two rhythms

The launch maps are downtown, the suburbs, The Trenches and Chicago Mall. Downtown and The Trenches push close-quarters fights; the suburbs and the mall mix indoor and outdoor routes. Learn one map's side routes before you worry about the whole pool.

Weapon customization and progression

You can change sights, magazines, grips, suppressors and other attachments, then add perks and equipment to the loadout. Playing matches levels you up and unlocks more weapons and equipment; attachments come from weapon challenges, and kills with each gun unlock skins. The practical advice is boring: pick one automatic weapon, learn its recoil, and unlock the attachments that make it consistent before you chase a second gun.

Play bots first

The game supports online matches and bot matches. You can choose the map, mode and match settings, then add bots to fill the teams. That is the cheapest way to learn the maps and the mode rules without feeding a real lobby.
