Enshrouded Guides: Beginner Tips & Co-op Basics

Enshrouded is a survival action RPG set in Embervale, a kingdom swallowed by a deadly fog called the Shroud. You explore a handcrafted open world, fight and loot, hunt and farm, and build with voxel tools — solo or in online co-op — while pushing into the Shroud itself for the materials you cannot get anywhere else.

What 1.0 opens up

The full map and the current storyline are live in the launch build, so you are no longer playing around a placeholder endgame. That also means Early Access routes can be skipped: build a base you like, follow the survivors' questlines, and treat the Shroud as the source of the late-game materials your gear upgrades keep asking for.

The loop you will repeat

Explore → gather, hunt and farm → build and grow an NPC settlement → enter the Shroud for rare materials → come back stronger. Settlements are not decoration: your production (crafting stations, farming, refining) grows with the survivors you bring home, which is what actually funds deeper Shroud trips.

Co-op in one minute

Up to 16 players on PC, up to 8 on PS5, all inside a shared world. There is no PC↔PS5 crossplay at launch — Adventure Sharing is the official workaround, letting another platform's player host a copy of a world you uploaded. If you plan to play with friends, build the shared base early so everyone spawns into something useful.
