Armatus Guides: Release Date, Platforms & Combat

Armatus guide hub — the 7 January 2027 release, PC and console platforms including Game Pass, and how the gun, scythe and celestial-power roguelite loop works.

Verified for versionpre-release

Armatus is a third-person roguelite shooter set in a demon-ravaged Paris. You fight with guns, a scythe and celestial powers, die, come back stronger, and keep pushing toward the Sunless Gate — and it arrives on 7 January 2027 across PC and consoles.

The combat has three layers

Range, melee and powers. Guns handle the space between you and trouble, the scythe handles the space that gets too close, and celestial abilities — things like holy flame or time manipulation — are the layer that turns a bad situation into a good one. The interesting builds will come from mixing all three rather than specialising in one.

Why it is a roguelite, not just a shooter

Dying is the progression system: each failed run feeds upgrades and unlocks that make the next attempt different. That means the right mental model is not "how do I beat this fight" but "what am I establishing for the next twenty runs".

Single-player, deliberately

Steam lists it as single-player. For a roguelite that is a design choice worth noting: run pacing, difficulty spikes and unlock routes are all tuned for one person, and you will not be waiting on a lobby.

Platforms and availability

The launch announcement covers PC alongside PlayStation, Xbox and Switch versions, with Game Pass on day one. Steam's own listing only names Windows — check your storefront of choice for the exact edition and timing.
